The New Prairie Men’s Cross Country Team competed in the IHSAA Sectionals at New Prairie’ Snyder & Smith Course on October 12th.

The team placed 4th among a field of 13 teams (91 runners) from the Sectional.

New Prairie placed 3 runners in the top 20 to earn All Sectional status. Tim O’Laughlin made a definitive move from 4th to 1st at around the halfway mark of the course and was able to use a tremendous push after Agony Hill to not only pass the leader, but to open up a commanding lead coming out of Horse Shoe Woods. On this blustery day, Tim was able to fend off all competitors to claim his Sectional Championship and signify his return to form for this season. The New Prairie Boys will race at the IHSAA Regionals next week in Chesterton’s Sunset Hills County Park. If they qualify, they then will race at the New Prairie Semi State on October 26th.
