The New Prairie Boys Cross Country team competed in the NIC Championship on Saturday, October 3rd.

The varsity squad placed 4th among 10 teams in the 5 kilometer race.

Racing conditions at Ox Bow County Park were nearly perfect. Josh Baltes was first team all-conference, finishing 5th in 16:50. Tristan Balmer ran an all-time personal best time of 17:29, earning honorable mention all-conference by finishing 16th. Brenden Oden finished 23rd in 17:45, Dan Reshan 26th in 17:54, and Dan O’Laughlin 30th in 18:03 to score for the Cougars. Alex Cicero finished 34th and Kyle Newcomb 41st to round out the varsity squad. In the JV race, Ethan Walden returned to racing following an extended period of cross-training due to injury, and posted the top JV NIC time, finishing in 17:42. New Prairie will compete and host the IHSAA Sectional on October 10th.
