Great day in the pool for the NPHS swimmers! There were more season and lifetime bests earned by the swimmers today! Today saw all swimmers returning from Thursday’s prelims and more dropped time.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Wrigley Hemphill, Neiman Graham, Mason Young and Gabe Groves earned 2nd place and had a state cut time of 1:35.53! This also set a new school record!
200 Free – Roman Piergalski finished 12th with a new best time of 1:55.60, Landon Farmer finished 8th with a new best time of 1:49.80, and Mason Young finished 2nd with a new best time and new school record time of 1:44.48.
200 IM – Myles Aerts finished 12th in a time of 2:18.03, Evan Lux finished 11th with a new best time of 2:13.70 and Gabriel Groves finished 5th with a new best time and new school record time of 2:00.49.
50 Free – Ethan Radtke finished 10th with a new best time of 23.98, Gavin Pizarek finished 8th in a time of 24.06 and Chase Brackeen finished 4th with a new best time of 22.14.
Diving – Nate Podell finished 6th (took place on Friday night)
100 Fly – Roman Piergalski finished 11th with a new best time of 59.36, Neiman Graham finished 5th with a new best time of 55.10, and Wrigley Hemphill finished tied for 3rd with a new best time of 53.29.
100 Free – Gabe Groves finished 6th with a new best time of 48.85, Chase Brackeen finished 4th with a new best time of 48.14 and Mason Young finished 2nd with a new best time, new school record and state cut time of 46.63.
500 Free – Griffin Long finished 14th with a new best time of 5:43.80, Evan Lux finished 10th with a time of 5:20.58 and Landon Farmer finished 8th with a new best time of 5:05.55.
200 Free Relay – The team of Gabe Groves, Chase Brackeen, Neiman Graham and Mason Young finished in 2nd place and swam to a new school record and state cut time of 1:27.69.
100 Backstroke – Myles Aerts finished 13th with a final time of 1:06.34, Gavin Pizarek finished 11th with a final time of 1:02.49 and Wrigley Hemphill finished 3rd with a new school record and best time of 51.47.
100 Breaststroke – Logan Justice finished 16th with a new best time of 1:14.93, Joe Pumroy finished 10th with a new best time of 1:08.16, and Neiman Graham finished 3rd with a new best and school record time of 59.56.
400 Free Relay – The team of Roman Piergalski, Landon Farmer, Wrigley Hemphill and Chase Brackeen finished 3rd with a new school record time of 3:18.13.

Fantastic sectional and season, gentlemen! Your coaches are all proud of all of your hard work throughout the season! Congratulations to all the new record holders and those who have qualified for the state meet! The state meet will be Friday February 26 and Saturday February 27.
