The New Prairie boys soccer team lost a close match to Culver Community High School 3 to 1.
New Prairie controlled the ball throughout the first half out shooting Culver by a significant margin but were unable to put the ball in the back of the net. Culver managed to pick up their first goal with 18 seconds left the first half. The second half started out well for the Cougars, dominating possession again. Unfortunately, about 10 minutes into the second half, a Cougar defender handled the ball in the penalty area which gave Culver a penalty shot, which they converted. New Prairie scored with 18 minutes to go when Griffen Onnink sent a perfect through-ball to Jonathan Bello who expertly place the ball into the far side netting. Culver then picked up their third goal with seven minutes to go in the game.
New Prairie plays their next game away on Saturday, September 26th, against Westville High School at 10:00 AM.
