The New Prairie boys cross country team placed 14th out of 20 teams at the IHSAA New Prairie Semi-State. The top 6 teams advanced to the state championship race next weekend in Terre Haute.

The Cougars will be represented by Josh Baltes competing next weekend as an individual at the state championship. Josh finished 12th overall in 16:28 and displayed grit and determination despite losing one of his shoes half-way through the race. Losing a shoe is an obvious disadvantage in any race, but especially in the wet course conditions at this year’s semi-state.

Other Cougar competitors included Tristan Balmer (85th in 17:33), Dan Reshan (91st in 17:36), Brenden Oden (122nd in 18:00), Alex Cicero (123rd in 18:00), Kyle Newcomb (127th in 18:04), and Dan O’Laughlin (138th in 18:10).
