NPCC Boys Compete at the Culver Academy Invitational! The New Prairie boys cross country team traveled to the Culver Academy Invitational on Saturday morning. NPCC boys fought hard and came away with an 8th-place team finish out of 24 schools. Braden Bachmann delivered his strongest performance of the season with a 16:51 for 9th place overall. For perspective, Braden ran 17:33 at Culver last year for 45th place! Braden moved up intelligently throughout today's race as he was only in 19th place at the mile. Lukas Hannewyk (18:02) and Mitch Walls (18:10) worked together nearly stride for stride, both splitting 5:28 at the mile and showing tremendous grit through the middle miles of the race! Lukas dropped a minute and 22 seconds from his 19:24 performance at Culver last year! Evan Wiesemann (18:31) and Aidan Jaronik (18:47) rounded out the top six. Aidan’s performance was especially noteworthy, last year, he ran 22:04 at Culver, meaning he’s cut over three minutes off his time! Ayden Carpenter (18:18) turned in another great showing this season! He also improved from his 20:33 last year, dropping more than two minutes. Sully Young (19:45) ran almost identical to last season’s 19:45 at Culver, which is very impressive considering the difficult conditions compared to last year! Rounding out the varsity lineup were Ryese Lake (19:48), Evan Thibodeau (20:04), and Isaac True (20:22). Isaac’s run marks a nearly four-minute improvement from his 24:12 at Culver last year. Ricky Corbett (21:01), Chase Vann, Chase Shelton (21:39), Sam Ringer (21:50), Joey Smith, and Mason Skoglund (26:04) all ran exceptionally well in the reserve race for the New Prairie boys. Both Sam and Mason dropped a tremendous amount of time from last week despite the tough conditions! The NPCC boys will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for the NIC Conference meet on Saturday October 4th at Oxbow Park!
