Football Falls to Elkhart

Cougar senior quarterback Reed Robinson ran for 145 yards on 25 carries with 3 touchdowns to lead New Prairie in a 56 - 28 home loss to Elkhart. Robinson also completed 9 passes for 87 yards. Sophomore running back Lucas Halderman gained 71 yards on 18 carries. Senior running back Noah Oberle carried 7 times for 34 yards with a touchdown. Senior receiver Trenton Mamazza made 3 catches for 30 yards. Senior receiver Sully Kress made 2 catches for 25 yards. On defense, Lucas Halderman led the Cougars with 6 tackles, including one for loss. Oberle and junior Luis Cruz each had 5 tackles. Mamazza intercepted a pass. New Prairie falls to 0 - 5 overall, 0 - 3 in the Northern Indiana Conference. Elkhart improves to 4 - 1 and 3 - 0. The Cougars return to action Friday in South Bend at Jackson Field where they take on Riley. Kickoff is at 6:30 CDT.
