The Lady Cougars finished as Sectional Runners-Up this morning behind Penn. The girls had outstanding races with all 7 runners finishing under 22:00 and in the top 35, with 4 in the top 15. The pack was tight with a 60 second spread between the scoring 5 and 1:26 between the entire varsity squad. Every runner beat their time from last year and earned either a lifetime PR, season best, or a home course PR or SB, highlighting their excellent progression throughout the season. Leading the pack today was Janice Felker in 8th place with a home course SB time of 20:29, followed by Mikaela Wilson in 10th place with a home course PR of 20:35. Elise Zelasko was close behind in 13th with a home course PR of 20:47 and Raegan Bicker finished 15th with a lifetime PR of 20:58! Rounding out the scoring 5 was freshman Kenna Barnhart, who held off a pack of St. Joe Huskies, finishing in 23rd place with a home course PR of 21:29. Seniors Jill Firanek and Natalie Klemczak both earned overall season bests! Jill finished 28th in 21:32 and Natalie finished 35th in 21:56. NPCC earned another week of racing in Indiana's one-class system and will be competing in the Regional next Saturday on our home course. The top 5 teams and top 15 individuals on non-advancing teams next week will advance to the State Finals. Go Cougars!
