NPCC hosted the Cougar Kickoff Classic this evening, and the Lady Cougars took the title. Leading the team to victory was Janice Felker (3rd; 21:06). Also earning top 20 honors were Mikaela Wilson (10th; 21:48), Elise Zelasko (12th; 22:03), Raegan Bicker (13th; 22:09), and Jill Firanek (17th; 22:39). Just missing the top 20 was Kenna Barnhart in 21st (23:10). Chloe Woodrick earned a new home course PR (60th; 25:55) and Sophia Hackett earned an all-time PR (107th; 29:25), hitting her long-time goal of sub-30! Strong performances were had by the rest of the pack with solid efforts put in under tough heat conditions on our tough, hilly course -- Natalie Klemczak (33rd; 24:00), Afton Maynes (35th; 24:06), Ava Schelstraete (46th; 25:03), Madelyn Lower (47th; 25:07), Cora Buss (55th; 25:42), Lexi Hyatte (85th; 27:42), Olivia Hardy (98th; 28:32), Maci Allen (104th; 29:16), Madison Mitchell (111th; 30:43), and Kenzie Boswell (113th; 30:55). Amazing sportsmanship was shown by Kenzie, who encouraged a struggling competitor through the last portion of the race! NPCC takes a break from racing this weekend, but is back on 9/19/26 to host the New Prairie Invitational! Come out and witness the spectacle and cheer on the Cougars!
