NPCC Ladies Finish 8th at Harrison Invite

The Lady Cougars battled some tough heat and humidity at the Harrison Invitational in West Lafayette this morning and pulled off an 8th place finish in a field of 16 teams. Leading the pack was Janice Felker in 22nd with a season best time of 20:39, followed by Elise Zelasko (37th; 21:25) and Raegan Bicker who tied her PR (51st; 21:48). Rounding out the scoring 5 were Kenna Barnhart with a PR of over a minute in (57th; 22:18) and Jill Firanek with a season best performance (58th; 22:20). Natalie Klemczak has been recovering from an injury and showed some big gains today with a season best time of 22:46. Afton Maynes ran a lifetime PR of 23:24, followed by season best performances from both Cora Buss (23:40) and Ella Sanford (23:49). Leading the Lady Cougars in the JV race today was Madelyn Lower, who was feeling strong with a season best performance of 24:25 followed by a PR from Lexi Hyatte in 26:02. Chloe Woodrick brought in the next pack of runners in 27:13 with Maci Allen following in a season best time of 27:17 and Olivia Hardy clocking 27:38. Kenzie Boswell ran her debut cross country 5K today in a time of 29:26, followed by Sophia Hackett in 30:20 and Madison Mitchell pushing through some pain in 30:59. The ladies had some amazing performances in the hot conditions today. We'll be back in action in some more heat on Tuesday 9/8/26 at the Cougar Kickoff Classic, but we're hoping for better racing conditions on 9/19/26 at the NP Invite!
