Cougars Battle St. Joe, Gain Valuable Experience The Cougars hosted South Bend St. Joseph this evening, falling 0-5 in the varsity matchup. While the final scores were not in our favor, the Cougars played much better than the score would indicate, competing hard and continuing to show growth throughout the lineup. At No. 1 Singles, Braden Bachmann battled Jacob Hix before falling 0-6, 0-6. At No. 2 Singles, Austin Bishop faced Oliver Hix and dropped his match 0-6, 0-6. At No. 3 Singles, JD Straup competed against Jaxson Ashfield, falling 0-6, 0-6. In No. 1 Doubles, Gabe Banicki and Manny Medina took on Jack Martian and Benny Griffin, falling 0-6, 0-6. At No. 2 Doubles, Riley Wilczynski and Ell McDonald faced Cole Halfpenny and Ben Brady, falling 0-6, 0-6. Despite the 0-5 result, the Cougars showed improvement and competed hard against a tough St. Joe squad. All of our JV players also had an opportunity to get on the court and gain valuable match experience, which will pay dividends as the season continues. The Cougars will be back in action Saturday morning at home for our New Prairie Invitational
