NPTF's Bachmann qualifies for IHSAA Regionals!

The New Prairie boys track and field team put together a strong performance at the IHSAA Chesterton Sectional, capturing multiple top-eight scoring finishes across individual and relay events. Track Events Braden Bachmann led the distance charge for the Cougars, securing a pair of impressive runner-up finishes. Bachmann placed second in both the 1600-meter run (4:30.49) and the 3200-meter run (9:48.35). In the hurdle events, New Prairie captured two top-five finishes. Noah Oberle earned fourth place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.93, while freshman Graham Wiard took fifth place in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 17.10. Other individual scoring performances on the track included: Evan Wiesemann: 6th place in the 400-meter dash (54.90) Leone Gennari: 7th place in the 200-meter dash (24.42) Ayden Carpenter: 8th place in the 800-meter run (2:16.71) Relay Events All three Cougar relay teams came through to secure valuable team points in highly competitive fields: 4x400-Meter Relay of Chase Shelton, Sullivan Young, Maddox Waltz, and Evan Wiesemann: 6th place (3:46.21) 4x800-Meter Relay of Chase Shelton, Ayden Carpenter, Lukas Hannewyk, and Evan Thibodeau: 6th place (9:24.32) 4x100-Meter Relay of Lucas Otwinowski, Grayson Goodman, Maddox Waltz, and Leone Gennari: 7th place (47.88) Field Events New Prairie’s throwers capped off the scoring performances by earning points in both the rings: Landon Halderman: 7th place in the discus with a throw of 114-6 Elijah Schuck: 7th place in the shot put with a mark of 40-0
