Lady Cougars Fall to Valpo Despite Strong Offensive Performance

Luther hit two home runs and drove in seven, but New Prairie Varsity Cougars lost to Valparaiso 22-17 on Friday. Luther homered in the fourth and fifth innings. Despite the loss, New Prairie Varsity Cougars did collect 15 hits in the high-scoring affair. New Prairie Varsity Cougars scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Luther hit a grand slam to left field, and Flagg homered to right field, scoring two runs. New Prairie Varsity Cougars scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to left field by Luther. New Prairie Varsity Cougars scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Pease singled, scoring one run, Klingberg was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Beltran singled, scoring one run, and Strakowski hit a grand slam to center field. New Prairie Varsity Cougars amassed 15 hits in the game. Strakowski, Beltran, Harris, Flagg, and Humes each collected multiple hits for New Prairie Varsity Cougars. New Prairie Varsity Cougars welcome Lakeshore on Monday for their next game.
