Energetic game tonight in Edwardsburg! Alex Miles was dominant in the circle, as the starting pitcher rang up 11 strikeouts in the Cougar's 12-3 victory over Edwardsburg Junior Varsity Eddies. New Prairie jumped into the lead in the top of the second when Payten Pozywala singled, scoring one run, and Brooklynn Gomez grounded out, scoring two runs. Cougars scored six runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Avery Sammetinger singled, scoring one run, Analyn Keck singled, scoring two runs, Ava Myers singled, scoring one run, Gomez singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. New Prairie piled up 12 hits in the game. Myers led New Prairie Junior Varsity Cougars with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Pozywala, Myers, Keck, and Gomez each collected two hits for New Prairie Junior Varsity Cougars. Kherington Durk paced New Prairie Junior Varsity Cougars with two walks. Grace Countryman had a laser rip into right pushing the Cougars into a dominating lead. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying up six walks for the game. The Cougars ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. Lia Kelly & Payten Pozywala had multiple amazing catches in the outfield to shut down the Eddies. New Prairie Junior Varsity Cougars play at home on Tuesday against Crown Point Bulldogs JV White in their next game.
