Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, New Prairie Varsity Cougars still held off for a 4-3 victory on Tuesday. New Prairie got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning after South Bend Adams committed an error, Beltran grounded out, Strakowski singled down the left field line, and Flagg walked, each scoring one run. Humes earned the win for New Prairie Varsity Cougars. The starter gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Strakowski and Flagg each collected one hit for New Prairie Varsity Cougars. Beltran, Strakowski, and Flagg each drove in one run for New Prairie. New Prairie Varsity Cougars will travel to South Central for their next game on Wednesday.
