Varsity vs Mishawaka Marian HS Varsity vs Bremen Senior High School New Prairie’s top performers delivered a strong, well-rounded showing, highlighted by event winners, distance dominance, and key contributions in the field against Bremen High School last night. Leading the way in the throws was Landon Halderman, who put together one of the most impressive performances of the meet. He captured the discus title with a throw of 115'2" and added a runner-up finish in the shot put, showing both power and consistency. Teammate Robert Putz backed him up with a second-place finish in the discus, giving New Prairie a strong one-two presence in the event. On the girls’ side, Chloe Deutscher stood out as well, winning the shot put and adding a third-place finish in the discus to cap a strong day. On the track, New Prairie’s distance crew dominated from start to finish. Janice Felker was exceptional, sweeping both the 1600m and 3200m while also running a leg on the winning 4x800 relay alongside Mikaela Wilson, Ella Sanford, and Elise Zelasko. Zelasko also added an individual third-place finish in the 3200m, while Natalie Klemczak placed third in the 1600m, second in the 3200m, and third in the 800m, showcasing her range across distances. The boys’ distance group was just as impressive. Braden Bachmann led the charge with victories in both the 1600m and 3200m and ran on the winning 4x800 relay team with Evan Wiesemann, Ayden Carpenter, and Aidan Jaronik. Lukas Hannewyk added a win in the 800m along with runner-up finishes in both the 1600m and 3200m, while Ayden Carpenter and Isaac True contributed third-place finishes in the 1600m and 800m, respectively. In the hurdles, Bailey Futa was dominant on the girls’ side, winning both the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles, while Aubrey Schelstraete added a third-place finish in the 300m hurdles to go along with her third-place effort in the long jump. On the boys’ side, Noah Oberle claimed the 300m hurdles title, and Graham Wiard added a third-place finish in the 110m hurdles. In the jumps, Grayson Goodman led the boys with a runner-up finish in the long jump, while Eliza Leslie added a third-place finish in the high jump to round out the top field event performances. Overall, New Prairie’s top-three finishers made their mark across every area of the meet, combining standout individual wins with depth in distance, strength in the throws, and key performances in the hurdles and field events.
