On March 21, 2026, New Prairie competed at the Portage Last Chance Qualifier, seeing a range of strong performances for both the boys's and girls's teams. NP Boys Results The New Prairie distance squad led the way in the 3200 meters. Braden Bachmann secured a runner-up finish with a time of 9:52.55. He was followed by Aidan Jaronik (10:53.20) in 8th place, Lukas Hannewyk (11:22.20) in 11th, and Ayden Carpenter (11:36.22) in 12th. In the 60-meter sprints, Noah Oberle clocked 7.56 to finish 20th overall. Grayson Goodman (7.76) and Lucas Halderman (7.87) placed 26th and 28th, respectively. Graham Wiard represented the Cougars in the 60 hurdles, finishing in 11.87 (14th). The relay teams saw several top-eight finishes: 4x200 Relay: Noah Oberle, Lucas Halderman, Grayson Goodman, and Ivan Magee finished 7th in 1:42.59. 4x400 Relay: Maddox Waltz, Owen Gosciniak, Leone Gennari, and Lucas Otwinowski placed 7th in 4:07.46. 4x800 Relay: Isaac True, Evan Thibodeau, Ryese Lake, and Ricky Corbett finished 8th in 10:14.00. Distance Medley Relay: Evan Thibodeau, Evan Wiesemann, Ryese Lake, and Isaac True took 6th in 13:06.67. In the field, Landon Halderman led the shot put group with a 9th-place mark of 39' 7.5". He was followed by Dorian Kieszkowski (36' 1.75", 13th), Oscar Barrett (34' 2", 18th), and Elijah Schuck (33' 0.5", 23rd). Grayson Goodman added an 18th-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 17' 10.25". NP Girls Results The women’s distance group turned in several strong individual and relay performances. Madelyn Lower placed 5th in the 3200 meters with a time of 13:41.40. Teammates Cora Buss (14:17.12), Chloe Woodrick (14:37.14), and Afton Maynes (14:46.52) followed in 10th, 12th, and 13th places. In the 60-meter dash, Isla Wood finished 21st (8.57), Olivia Rice 27th (8.77), and Cynthia Medina 29th (9.04). Bailey Futa competed in the 60 hurdles, earning a 9th-place finish in 10.84. The relay units provided the team's highest placements of the day: 4x800 Relay: Janice Felker, Jillian Firanek, Elise Zelasko, and Natalie Klemczak secured a 2nd-place finish in 11:11.48. 4x400 Relay: Aubrey Schelstraete, Bailey Futa, Cynthia Medina, and Janice Felker took 3rd place in 4:35.24. Distance Medley Relay: Ella Sanford, Mikaela Wilson, Raegan Bicker, and Angel Patterson finished 4th in 17:02.11. 4x200 Relay: Eliza Leslie, Olivia Rice, Aubrey Schelstraete, and Bailey Futa placed 9th in 1:57.27. In field events, Eliza Leslie cleared 4' 6" in the high jump to tie for 10th place. The shot put group was led by Chloe Deutscher, who took 8th with a throw of 30' 6". Other shot put marks included Emma Deutscher (25' 1.25", 18th), Addison Miller (18' 11", 30th), and Valeria Montiel (16' 4", 33rd).
