New Prairie wrestling as the Cougars tied a school record by advancing eight wrestlers to the Semi-State tournament following the Crown Point Regionals. Moving on to East Chicago next week includes Micah Vargas, Nik Freeze, Nate Scott, Colton Newgent, Aiden Fernandez, MJ Staples, James Hartleroad, and Jeffrey Huyvaert. Jeffrey Huyvaert captured the regional title, marking the fourth time in his high school career he has stood atop the podium as a regional champion. They now carry that momentum into the East Chicago Semi-State next Saturday.
