The Lady Cougars opened up their 2025-26 season at home battling out a physical South Bend Washington. Despite a slow start, that Lady Cougars found their rhythm in the 2nd quarter and carried it through the rest of the game. Senior Hannah Hawkins-Weisner showed great poise and leadership consistently getting the team into their offense. Freshman Makenzie Griffiths lead the team in scoring with 11 points and a handful of blocks in her freshman debut. Feisty guard play from sophomore Brooklynne Shepherd who tossed in 9 points and defensive specialist Junior Riley Ernsperger gave endless energy to the Cougars. Senior Envy Hesch had the momentum shifter nailing a 3 down the stretch from a perfect assist inside out play from Junior Chloe Deutscher. The Lady Cougars return to action at home on Thursday hosting Westville for a 6:00cst start. It is a varsity only evening on Thursday. With the win, the Cougars are 1-0 in regular season and NIC play.
