Girls Varsity Golf · Two Cougar Ladies Golf Team Members receive ICGSA Academic All State Recognition


 

 

The New Prairie Cougars Ladies’ Varsity Golf Team had two seniors recognized as Academic All State recipients.  Seniors Zoie Martinez and Jordan Winters earned the recognition by recording a high SAT score, maintaining an excellent GPA and lettering in Golf for all four years in high school.

Zoie Martinez, daughter of Chuck and Courtney Martinez, earned a combined SAT score of 1110, GPA of 3.874 and earned a varsity letter on the Cougar’s Golf team all four years.  Miss Martinez ranked 16 out of 218 seniors.

Jordan Winters, daughter of Joe and Linnea Winters, earned a combined SAT score of 1190, GPA of 3.901 and earned a varsity letter on the Cougar’s Golf Team all four years.  Miss Winters ranked 15 out of 218 seniors.

Dr. Bruce Watson, Head Varsity Coach praised the hard work and dedication to scholarship and athletics of his two seniors.  “This is the 49th year of Ladies Golf at New Prairie.  We have had three Academic All-Staters prior to this year.  To have two in the same year is really amazing.  My compliments go out to both Zoie and Jordan.  What a pleasure it has been for me to be their coach these past three years”.  Both ladies plan to attend college after graduation.
