The New Prairie Dance Team had a successful start to their competition season this past Saturday. The team competed at Marian High School in Mishawaka, Indiana.
The Middle School team competed in Single A Pom category, placing 1st, with a large gap between 1st and 2nd place. They rocked their performance with clean, sharp lines and the coaches are ecstatic with their placing.
High School Soloist Amellia Klute launched her routine and looked stunning in her costume. Her routine had a lot of emotion and was stunning.
The High School team competed in three categories on Saturday. They placed 2nd in AA Pom with a fast paced, energetic performance. Hip Hop placed 3rd with a challenging, sassy performance. For the first time in New Prairie Dance history, 8 team members competed in the Jazz category that had the audience emotional.
Most excitingly, New Prairie was voted as Best Sportsmanship and won that award! The coaches are very proud at how supportive our program is of other teams.
The competition season is in full swing until March. We look forward to see where this season takes us! – Coach Tara Dome
